Chamberchoir "Caprice", Holland
Chamberchoir Caprice has 29 members: 13 men and 16 women. Every thirsday evening the choir has a rehearsal. Sometimes there are special studyweekends. Most of the members have individual singing lessons. The conductor spends a lot of time to get a nice coloration of the sound. Every two years there are voice-tests to quarantee a good quality. The new members have to do an audition.
A short history.
It began in 1982. About 15 people started to sing Christmas Carols. It was such a pleasure that they decided to continue. In 1983 the chamberchoir “Caprice” was established. The last 25 years the choir is well known in the region as well as abroad.
The choir has given a lot of concerts. In churches in Ermelo, Harderwijk, Amersfoort, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Zwolle and Den Bosch. Caprice sings also in divine services. Except a-capella choirmusic, there are also oratorio works on the repertoire. Several times we had a great performance of the St.Matthew Passion and the St.John Passion of J.S.Bach, The Messiah of Händel, Requiem of Brahms, Music of Haydn, Sweelinck, Fauré, Mozart, Andriessen, J.S.Bach (including all the six motets) and so on. In May 2009, the choir sung the spectaculair composition “The Armed Man, a mass for peace”, written by Karl Jenkins.
The choir got wellknown on behalf of the annual traditional performance of Christmas Carols. From the establishment until now, the “Ceremony of Carols and Lessons”are every year a height in December. These activities gave Caprice a full house. At the services of several years there were more than 1200 listeners.

• 1993. Italy. Rome.Co-operation in the divine service of St.Peters Cathedral.
• 1996. France. Concerts in Paris: the Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and the Cathedral of Chartres.
• 1997. Belgium. Concerts in Brussels and Antwerp in several cathedrals.
• 1999. England. Evensongs in Canterburycathedral.
• 2000. Belgium. Again concerts in Brussels and Antwerp
• 2002. Italy. Sienna and Florence (Basilica di Santa Maria Novella and in Fiesole)
• 2004. Spain. Concerts in the cathedral of Barcelona.
• 2005. Belgium. Again concerts in Brussels
• 2006. Italy. Rome. For the second time the cathedral of St.Peter and concerts in other cathedrals.
